2-year well visit...

--

We took Brooklyn for her 2-year well visit to the Pediatrician. She weighed in at 24 pounds 7 oz (since her 18 month visit in May she has crossed from the 10th percentile to the 25th percentile for her weight) and she was 34 inches tall (growing nicely in the 50th-75th percentile)! Her head measured 18 1/2 inches (50th percentile).

--
The doctor was very pleased with all aspects of her. I'm not sure that the doctor believed us that she could (and would) talk because she hardly said a word! She did point out a few body parts when I asked her - but wouldn't speak to the doctor at all...She talked up a storm to the nurse, though - even when she pricked her finger to check her hemoglobin!
----
According to her sheet that we got from the Pediatrician:

Milestones to expect:

--
Your baby should walk alone and climb steps holding onto rail. Who needs a rail?
--
Uses spoon and cup well. She has always been very good at "self-feeding" and she never took a bottle (ok maybe 10 times total) - so no problems in this area!
--
Your baby should now have a 20 word vocabulary and a few two word sentences. She talks up a storm - sometimes non-stop, except of course at the doctor's office! She can say most anything - it might not sound exactly like what she is saying, but we can understand her! I could try and list all the words she can say - but I'm there are so many - I know it is way more than 20! And she does use sentences quite well already! Brannon and I have commented to each other about her sentence structure and how good it seems for a 2-year old (but we are of course the biased parents).
--
He/she should call self by name and scribble spontaneously. I know she knows her name - but usually it is "my do it" or something like that. She is showing interest in coloring and when she isn't breaking the crayons in half (to make more crayons of course!), she does scribble quite nicely!
--
Some other things to note that Brooklyn is up to these days:
--
She is starting to say numbers - in no particular order and usually just when Bella is counting
--
She likes to sing and dance. She especially likes to walk around with our Big Al doll asking anyone to push his hand so he can dance.
--
She is showing more interest in books
--
She LOVES her baby dolls!
--
She climbed out of her crib all by herself the day before she turned 2.
--
She is very into going potty. She is still in diapers full time - but she shows so much interest and within the past few weeks we've noticed that she really seems to be making the connection between when she needs to go potty and actually getting to the potty for it!
--
She likes help put all the clothes away
--
She LOVES her big sister, Bebba, and and wants to do everything Bebba is doing.
--
She seems excited about the new baby - although I don't know that she understands that she will be losing her status as the baby and moving into the "middle child"!
--
She is very social and talks up a storm (except at the doctor's office) and can say most anything!
--
She knows most of her body parts and will point them out to you, if you ask!
--
She knows several animal sounds and will mimic them back to you!
-
I'm sure there is more - but this is all I can think of right now!

Thanks for stopping by! I love the pediatrician visits. And I'm so jealous of all that gorgeous hair! Your girl sounds like a real sweetie... here's hoping she keeps it up!
